Hello,
We will soon be building a house in the Lower Rhine region, and we are looking for an expert who can help us with the decision-making and planning of a highly energy-efficient house. Friends recommended the company Eukon from Krefeld (which fits quite well :eek ), but they have no personal experience themselves and only know the company through others (colleagues at work or so). Has anyone had any experience with this company? Please share your thoughts. This is quite important to us.
Thank you!

Could someone please respond only if they have understood my initial question? I don't want to endlessly debate the approach we have chosen. We want to build a new energy-efficient house, and since we have no expertise ourselves, we are working with an experienced energy consultant. That can’t be so unreasonable, right? Well, you seem quite upset...
If you have an experienced energy consultant, everything should be fine. Then just do exactly what they recommend, or do you not trust them?

Your goal is therefore exceeded, and depending on your perspective, this can be more energy-efficient than some passive houses.
Please make sure to thoroughly inform yourself. There is no expert who can plan exactly the right solution for you because you do not yet know what you actually want.

bauherr.heinz6 Dec 2019 20:58Why do these threads always attract self-proclaimed pseudo-experts who need to vent their neuroses? We already have a good idea of what we (maybe) want, but I’m not interested in discussing it here. I prefer to do that with a “real” professional—yes, someone who charges for their services (because something free usually isn't worth much!). I would appreciate a recommendation for this company from someone who has worked with them before. Or another company, but please not too far from Krefeld.

Well, energy saving, of course. The answer has already been given: Don’t build new. The energy required for building insulation and building services engineering now means that significantly more energy is embedded in the construction than the building typically consumes in operational energy over its usual lifespan of 30 to 50 years. So if your motivation is more than just greenwashing, buying a "clean" conscience, or the appeal of moral superiority, then don’t go for new construction. Don’t get me wrong, but don’t make things worse.

bauherr.heinz6 Dec 2019 21:35No, we’re not that environmentally green. We just can’t find any used or suitable options at a reasonable price. After all, we need to accommodate three children. And since we’re building new, we prefer not to use gas. For example, a heat pump combined with solar panels.
