Hello,

We will soon be building a house in the Lower Rhine region, and we are looking for an expert who can help us with the decision-making and planning of a highly energy-efficient house. Friends recommended the company Eukon from Krefeld (which fits quite well :eek ), but they have no personal experience themselves and only know the company through others (colleagues at work or so). Has anyone had any experience with this company? Please share your thoughts. This is quite important to us.

Thank you!

We don’t want a general contractor. They tend to overcharge anyway. We’d rather hire someone independent for that.

And they don’t want your money?
There are all kinds of people everywhere.

Of course, they want money, but they also want to be independent. It’s like with financial advisors: What does the friendly guy from Deutsche Bank recommend? Deutsche Bank investments. And the one from Commerzbank? And with insurance? What does your Allianz advisor suggest? We want someone knowledgeable and competent who tells us what is best.

You save energy by avoiding new construction. And if you do build new, then don’t go for 200m² (2,150 sq ft), but only as much space as you truly need.

Choose an architect with experience in passive houses (PHPP).

Could someone please respond here only if they have understood my initial question? I don’t want to endlessly debate our chosen approach. We simply want to build a new house, energy-efficient, and since we have no expertise ourselves, with an experienced energy consultant by our side. That can’t be that unreasonable, can it?
