Hello everyone,
We are currently working on our paving.
The paving stones are from Kann Bausysteme and are called Parchetto.
We have the following issue. See pictures:

Is this type of installation acceptable? When the stones were laid, we were not at home but at work. Should the paver have been more careful?
Because the dark stones are placed directly next to the light ones, it looks very odd.
When we looked at the samples at the store before ordering, it was not clear that the color variations in this paving would be so pronounced.
The laying pattern looks like this:

We actually like this part. We are desperate and don’t know what to do. We don’t like how it looks at all.
Best regards
Koempy

The 50 percent would be just under €1800. That definitely makes you think. What I might still try is to get two or three more pallets of the bricks to have some for swapping. But I think we will probably accept the offer. I will definitely post the swapped result once everything is sorted out.
Above all, we don’t want to get into a legal dispute, and we want to finish the project. Leaving the paving half done doesn’t help anyone.

You don’t need more bricks. Just remove one brick in two different spots and swap them. Pulling out individual bricks is fairly manageable with special tools. Maybe try this together with the landscaper. Putting them back in might be tricky since not every brick is the same size.
After about six months, removing the bricks becomes much harder because they have settled.
Use the money to have the landscaper swap a few bricks (ideally at their expense). For that amount, you can do quite a bit in the outdoor area and overlook the appearance (after all, it’s only about looks, not functionality) of the paving.

That sounds good.
Talk to the paver to see if he would be willing to mix up the flawed "pattern" a bit on his own, and help him with that. Then you should all be happy.
In addition, you will probably have about 27m² (290 sq ft) of paving left that you can use somewhere else.

The 3-pallet extra stones are really great. You can use them to pave quite a bit more, for example a lawn edging, another terrace, or something similar. I think you’re now very well equipped and have gotten nice paving stones for a really good price. In the end, you even gained something from the hassle. That’s nice and definitely better than a legal dispute.
The paving is now complete. Everything went smoothly and faster than expected. We fully exchanged 2 pallets.
Additionally, we swapped many stones amongst each other and in some cases simply rotated them by 180 degrees. This greatly improved the overall appearance.
The payment from Kann, along with the 3 pallets of stones, also arrived today. So everything was handled very quickly and cooperatively. I really have to commend Kann Bausysteme for that.
I’ll post a new picture in the next few days.
