Hello everyone,

We are currently working on our paving.

The paving stones are from Kann Bausysteme and are called Parchetto.

We have the following issue. See pictures:

Outdoor area with gray-black paving stones and a red cable on the ground

Modern white detached house with gray paved area in the front yard; construction materials visible.

Is this type of installation acceptable? When the stones were laid, we were not at home but at work. Should the paver have been more careful?
Because the dark stones are placed directly next to the light ones, it looks very odd.
When we looked at the samples at the store before ordering, it was not clear that the color variations in this paving would be so pronounced.

The laying pattern looks like this:

Wooden crate with pumpkins, decorative gourds, and straw on paved surface.

We actually like this part. We are desperate and don’t know what to do. We don’t like how it looks at all.

Best regards

1) What was agreed upon regarding the color distribution?

Could it be that the moisture content is at least partly responsible?

I have now spoken with Kann and asked the installer how he did it.

The installer simply placed 5 packages and took one layer from each of the different packages to install.

Kann says that he should have mixed the rows like when laying laminate flooring.
Kann schrieb:

By following the installation instructions we recommend, which involve mixing stones from multiple packages, a random distribution of single- and multicolored stones is achieved, creating a harmonious overall color pattern.

The paver told me that he obtained the installation guide.

This afternoon, I will see how he reacts when I bring it up.

That really doesn't look very good.
I’m not sure if something actually needs to be agreed upon here. I would have also assumed that paving isn’t done blindly (and judging by your photos, everything suggests that it was), but rather that the specified pattern is followed:

Usually, the pallets should be thoroughly mixed before installation in cases like this, but as already asked... what was agreed upon?

Well, now there is obviously a separate installation pattern for the parquet (not mixed together). And if that’s the case, it will probably be difficult to put it back together as originally planned.
