Hello dear homebuilding forum,
we are planning to build our single-family house in Saxony-Anhalt in 2018. Yesterday we received the offer. Could you possibly give us some feedback on whether it is good or rather not so good.
Thank you very much

I find it surprising that the price includes free window design, as the window size usually has a significant impact on the overall house price. We are also building according to the current energy-saving regulations and, in addition to a gas heating system, required solar thermal energy and mechanical ventilation. The masonry also needed better insulation than the T10 standard.
Best regards,
Sabine

Best regards,
SabineWe also have a few more patio doors at no extra charge. Even our angled custom window in the gable wasn’t charged separately. Our bricklayer said that windows and masonry don’t differ much in cost.
Best regards in brief

Our mason said that windows and masonry wouldn’t differ much in cost. Good heavens. What kind of cheapest window is that supposed to be? - it sounds at least like plastic without a steel core.

Think of it more as an exception :ö)..
For example, with us, the wall including everything is about 200 m² (2,150 sq ft), and the windows 300 m² (3,230 sq ft). And those are "only" plastic windows.
Wood-aluminum windows cost around 550 per m² (close to 51 per sq ft), so almost three times the price of the masonry per m².
- All prices are net amounts

Window 300. And these are “just” plastic windows. Plus the lintel (including all the related work)!
I believe this calculation can never be accurate, and the builder actually means something else: that because a homeowner typically wants a maximum of three additional windows on average, he doesn’t make his estimator work overtime to determine the exact extra cost.
