I am still in the process of planning my new kitchen. Only now have I noticed that there are no doors available at 160 cm (63 inches) height! That’s frustrating.

I have a built-in Siemens fridge that is 157.7 cm (62 inches) tall and requires a niche height of 158 cm (62 inches). If there were a 160 cm (63 inches) high door, it would work if I moved the top shelf upwards. It would be behind the 60 cm (24 inches) high upper door, and with the 60 cm (24 inches) high wall cabinets next to it, it would create a uniform look. But that’s not possible! So what do I do now? I don’t want a 40 cm (16 inches) low mini-door either at the top or the bottom!

Why are the doors available only in 20 cm (8 inches) increments, but the 160 cm (63 inches) size is missing? Does IKEA really want to force customers to buy only IKEA appliances?

So much for customer focus!

Use a 140cm (55 inches) door and a 20cm (8 inches) drawer front, and connect them with a flat connector. That way, you get a 160cm (63 inches) door. Maybe this will match the appearance of the other kitchen fronts.

Would two 80cm (32 inch) doors fit well into the overall design?

This is very strange, as IKEA itself had numerous appliances for the 158cm (62 inch) niche in the Faktum series. Recently, I didn’t see any built-in refrigerators at the IKEA showroom that didn’t have some useless storage space somewhere because the doors are taller than the refrigerator. Unbelievable.

Why would you need a 40cm (16 inch) mini door? A 40cm (16 inch) high drawer fits perfectly underneath. Don’t your other cabinets have 40cm (16 inch) drawers at the bottom?
