Hello,
About 10 days ago, the gutters were installed on our single-family house. Yesterday, I was on the scaffolding and noticed that the gutter is leaking where the individual sections are joined together and was dripping. I’m concerned because a conservatory will be built below the gutter at one point, and it is unpleasant to hear the dripping on the conservatory roof (which we currently experience at our rental property). Is this considered a defect, or is it normal?

Don’t always call it a defect right away – the house isn’t finished yet!
You can mention it at the next meeting, and then it will be sealed, fixed, or whatever is needed to make it watertight. Exactly. It’s just a tiny little soldering job done by the roofer. However, there really shouldn’t be any dripping at that spot. Is there water standing in the gutter? Sometimes the gutter can’t be fully soldered to the edge at the transition, for example because roof tiles get in the way. If water stands in the gutter because, for example, the downpipe is blocked (by leaves, construction gravel, or similar), then the water can reach the top edge of the solder joint and cause dripping. That’s what happened in our case. Once the downpipe was cleared, everything was fine.
Best regards

Thanks to everyone for the quick responses.
P.S. The gutter is brand new, and the downpipe is clear.
