Hello everyone,
I’m currently planning my terrace and would like to design it in a Mediterranean style. Do you have any ideas to help emphasize the Mediterranean look? Which types of stone would you recommend?
I’m grateful for any tips!

We also had a terrace in a Mediterranean style... The floor was covered with speckled, dark marble... Oleander plants in large, earth-brown pots... delicate white garden furniture... colorful tablecloths... We then added a roof structure with lots of glass and black supporting elements...

But I think the plants, the earth-brown pots, and the marble contributed the most... Let me quickly check the name of that marble for you...

We no longer live in that house (it used to be my parents’ former home), and I have not lived there for about 7 years... but if I compare carefully, I am quite sure it was "fior de mare" marble...

I haven’t read it yet, but while browsing this site, I saw something about Mediterranean style in house building trends.

Hello jarni,

I would recommend marble slabs. Perhaps you have space somewhere for a nice column. Oleander is, of course, also part of the Mediterranean style. I suggest looking through some specialist magazines. You will surely find something you like. I wish you the best of luck with that. Let me know if you come up with anything or if you already have some ideas.

Your terrace tips are great! 🙂 Many thanks to all of you! In the meantime, I have looked at some really beautiful marble slabs. The “Fior de Mare” ones also look lovely. However, I still haven’t been able to make a decision. The selection is simply too large. Oleander is a must. It really gives a true holiday vibe. I also read the post about Mediterranean-style house construction. There are some very interesting points there.
Thank you very much!
In my mind, my terrace is already taking on Mediterranean shapes. 😉
