Hello everyone,

For our future house, we have chosen the following washbasins from IKEA:

Washbasin with wooden countertop, white base cabinet, and round basin with faucet.

Double ceramic washbasin on wooden countertop over white base cabinet with four drawers.

Our plumber, who is currently installing the water lines in the house, told us he needs “dimension sheets showing the locations of the cold and hot water supply connections as well as the wastewater outlets.”

Now I’m stuck and have no idea where to get these from… Unfortunately, I couldn’t find this information in the product details on the IKEA website or in the assembly instructions.

Does anyone know if IKEA provides such documents and where to get them? Maybe someone here has needed this before?

I’ve only found the dimensions for the washbasins – see attachment – but apparently, these are not sufficient.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,

At Ikea, there are employees in the store who will help you design your bathroom, including plumbing connections and so on. It’s best to bring your building plan and avoid going on Saturdays at 1:00 PM. Tuesday at 10:15 AM is better. Karsten

Ikea actually offers more online options beyond just the PDF linked above.

Our fitter also wanted them back then, so I asked IKEA. Customer service replied that they only have the drawings included with the product or available for download online. Unfortunately, this was not very helpful, so we assembled the furniture in advance and checked on site where the connections need to be.

We are currently facing the same situation and, interestingly, have even chosen exactly the same washbasins as the original poster.

Our plumber wants a bathroom layout plan so he knows exactly where the connections should go. Since Ikea doesn’t provide this, he has now referred us to a bathroom specialist who can apparently do this. But of course, only if we buy the fixtures from them.
We’re fine with that for the faucet, toilet, and shower fittings, but I don’t agree with the prices for the base cabinets and mirrored cabinets, especially since we actually prefer the ones from Ikea.

I’m also planning to visit Ikea again to ask if they can provide a bathroom plan with connection points. Otherwise, I might have to go with the option mentioned by Teyla—I just hope the plumber won’t be uncooperative about it.

Everyone, there is the Ikea bathroom planner available online, and there are people in the store who can help with that. There is also an installation service for bathrooms offered by Ikea.
