Hello everyone,

I have been an IKEA customer for many years and finally moved in with my girlfriend in January 2008. We purchased our complete apartment furniture from IKEA in December 2007, including the Kramfors sofa with brown leather.

I have receipts for all purchases except for the sofa. The sofa was delivered by a freight company and paid for in cash on delivery. I assume we did not receive a receipt from them. I wasn’t at home during the delivery, only my girlfriend was, and since we were quite busy and the sofa had to remain packed in the apartment for about 14 days, I might not have paid attention.

Now I have the same issue as others with this sofa: the leather is damaged. I have already contacted IKEA, but they don’t seem to be able to find any purchase documentation. They are also unsure which freight company delivered the sofa. I do know that the company that delivered our other furniture did not deliver the sofa.

What should we do now? We ordered the sofa on the last day of a 20% promotion in December 2007 at the IKEA store in Ludwigsburg. It was delivered in early January 2008.

Can anyone help or give me some advice? The sofa is a corner sofa consisting of two two-seater sections and a corner piece, plus an ottoman. The price was around 2000€ (about 2000 USD). It was paid for in cash upon delivery.

Thank you very much in advance…

[Quote]Just as I quoted from the website, this also applies:

[Quote]Unlimited time for exchange and returns
Think it over, try it out, test it – for as long as you want.

This is offered by IKEA on unused goods with original packaging and a valid receipt including IKEA FAMILY number (except for discounted items, custom-made countertops, and plants).

However, this only applies to IKEA Austria. At IKEA Germany, the period is still 3 months.

And this applies only to business customers. For Family customers, it is 2 months when registering the Family card at the time of purchase.
