ᐅ Is it possible to purchase Ikea PAX wardrobes fully pre-assembled?

PiparI am currently considering purchasing an Ikea PAX wardrobe system and am concerned that assembling the wardrobes might be very time-consuming and stressful for me. Therefore, I would like to know: Is there a way to buy Ikea PAX wardrobes fully pre-assembled?
I am particularly interested in whether Ikea itself or authorized partners offer this service, if there are special services delivering the wardrobe already assembled, or if there are independent companies that handle this – ideally with guarantees for quality and safety.
I have heard of pre-assembled furniture from other manufacturers, but this seems less common with Ikea. I am also aware that the PAX system is especially complex due to its wide range of configuration options. So, is there a practical way to completely or at least partially reduce this effort without having to do the assembly myself? Perhaps someone has experience or tips on outsourcing the entire assembly or ordering pre-made modules. Thanks in advance for your help!

But don’t worry, there are definitely options to have the assembly done entirely externally. Ikea itself does not offer fully pre-assembled PAX wardrobes, but you can book their so-called “furniture assembly service,” which handles the assembly for you.
Alternatively, there are many independent craftsmen and assembly companies specializing in Ikea products who can assemble your PAX wardrobe on-site. Some even offer to assemble the wardrobe beforehand in a workshop and then deliver it assembled – although this is often a bit more expensive and not officially supported by Ikea.
If convenience is your main concern, Ikea’s own assembly service is usually a good choice. And who knows – maybe Ikea will develop a pre-assembly option in the future, where the wardrobe is delivered basically ready to use. Worth keeping an eye on! 😉

The modular design and flat pack format are part of their logistics strategy, which is based on self-assembly.
The Ikea furniture assembly service primarily refers to on-site assembly at the customer's home. This means:
- You purchase the individual parts (cabinet frame, doors, interior fittings) still in flat pack condition.
- The service provider comes to your home and professionally assembles everything.
- The warranty on the wardrobe remains valid, as the assembly is commissioned and covered by Ikea.
It is important to know: There is no option to order or receive fully pre-assembled modules directly from Ikea. This contradicts their core sales concept.
Furthermore, there are sometimes regional providers of assembly or installation services outside of Ikea, who — with or without a workshop — may offer complete pre-assembly. However, this is often handled on an individual basis and does not come with the same warranty as the official Ikea service.
One thing to consider is the complexity of the PAX system: different heights, widths, interior configurations, and so on make full pre-assembly difficult, especially for larger packages and transport.
Finally, it should be clarified whether you have a fully custom design or rather standardized elements. The more custom it is, the more difficult pre-assembly outside the home becomes.
To supplement the previous answers:
From a logistical and economic perspective, Ikea does not offer pre-assembled PAX wardrobes. They focus on flat-pack packaging for optimal storage and transportation.
The official option for assembly acceptance is the Ikea furniture assembly service, which only includes on-site assembly and does not cover the shipment of fully pre-assembled modules.
Some external companies offer partial pre-assembly, but these should be carefully evaluated regarding liability, warranty, and quality. There is no standardized nationwide offer in Germany for this; rather, there are local or individual agreements.
If the requirement is to avoid any assembly work, I recommend:
- using the Ikea assembly service, or
- hiring a professional furniture assembler to build everything on-site.
This also maintains flexibility to customize the wardrobe to individual dimensions and requirements.
