Hello everyone, I am considering getting a flexible but functional office cabinet for my home office and came across the Ikea PLATSA system. Does anyone have experience with whether PLATSA works well as a storage solution for an office? I am looking for something sturdy enough to hold binders, tech accessories, and possibly some heavy books, but also modular so it can adapt to changing needs. Additionally, I am interested in how the system performs in terms of stability, ease of assembly, and appearance in everyday office use. Looking forward to your insights and advice!

It’s great to see that this topic is so lively! I would like to add that I really appreciate the combination of open and closed compartments in my setup because it makes access easier while still giving a tidy impression. Additionally, I have retrofitted some small drawer inserts to keep cables and small items organized. This might be of interest to the person who asked the question: The flexibility of Platsa also allows you to add new modules over time if your space requirements grow – which is a real advantage for an office.

The tips, especially regarding installation, wall mounting, and handling during loading, were very helpful—thank you! In summary, I see PLATSA as a good modular and adaptable solution for a home office, provided the recommended load limits are observed and secure installation is ensured. For professional large offices with heavy usage, it might not be the first choice, but it is definitely worth considering for smaller or medium-sized applications. I will take a closer look at the modules and test how well they meet my requirements.
