Hello,
we have a covered terrace and would like to install 6 recessed LED downlights in the ceiling. I was wondering what IP rating the lights should have. Is IP44 sufficient, or would it be better to use IP65? The lights definitely won’t be exposed to rain, but I’m not sure how it is with moisture in general.

Actually, it even says that IP23 is completely sufficient directly under the ceiling.I’m not exactly sure if there are regulations, but I have also installed some LED floodlights under the roof overhang that can never get wet. I didn’t use IP44 lights there, to my knowledge they are more like IP23. However, I made sure to use proper sealing for the wiring, and the junction box is even IP65, even though it is located inside under the roof overhang.Similar topics
