Hello,
we now own a plot of land in a newly developed area with about 8 plots. A new access road will be built for this area, along with all the related public infrastructure. The company responsible for the development claims to have informed the telecom provider about the project, but it seems unlikely that much will happen, and when moving in, there will probably be no internet connection available. The road construction is expected to start in about 2 to 4 weeks.
Do you have any experience or tips on how to proceed? Should we contact a professional provider (telecom company, cable provider) and apply for a connection? I’ve heard that providers usually only take action once the first connection is requested. It’s unlikely that any cables, fiber optics, etc. will be installed in the street automatically.
Best regards
Sebastian

Here is my understanding of the situation:
Since this concerns public infrastructure, it is pointless to look for a professional service provider at this stage. That is done during the internal infrastructure phase, when it comes to your telephone connection or internet.
I would be surprised if the contracting parties do not have telecommunication cables installed. A telephone line is actually considered standard nowadays.
Fiber optic cable (I hope I am not confusing terms) – meaning the faster connections – is not available everywhere, however.
The developer or contractor has very little to do with telecommunication lines – actually nothing at all. 😉

There are even fiber optic phone lines available, and since the traditional analog copper telephone network has been phased out by pink elephants (more formally: it will soon be switched off) and everything runs over the internet now, a suitable internet connection is usually sufficient – a telephone line in itself is not necessarily required. Especially for family homes, I don’t see any advantages as long as there is a reliable internet supply (possibly with CATV).
So KD/Vodafone should be enough, although you can get the same with Big-T... But one connection is enough, as mentioned – telephone and internet and possibly TV no longer need to be separate.
Some providers also install fiber optic – at least prepared for it... Everything can run over that. What’s important to me is a fast connection – Telekom sometimes only offers 6M connections for new builds, which is basically dripping from the line 🙁 Could you possibly arrange a joint solution with all the neighbors involved? A shared connection often turns out to be cheaper than several individual ones!
