Hello everyone,
In our apartment (newly built), we had some walls painted in color.
As you can see in the photos, the walls were not painted all the way up to the ceiling. There are clearly visible uneven edges in some spots more than others.
Do I have to accept this, or is it considered a defect?
Thank you very much for your help!
Best regards,
Jegor

Tomtom is right about that. It looks the same in our case, but unlike you, it doesn’t bother us.
You can see that the plasterer wasn’t the best, so the painter has little chance to improve it. If he had painted a bit higher, it would look like the ceiling was painted too.
That would probably have been even worse.

I would tape off the wall now and paint a white stripe. Our painter followed the suggestion from @tomtom79, and we are satisfied with that. I wouldn’t be happy with something like in the pictures either—it doesn’t blend in. However, adding the contrast stripe afterwards isn’t as simple as just painting over it with white if you want it to look neat. You have to work carefully with both colors.H
