ᐅ Installing a mixer tap on an Ikea Boholmen kitchen sink

Hello,
I hope someone can help me. I have the Boholmen sink and a mixer tap (not from IKEA – but I guess that doesn’t matter).
I expected the sink to have a hole where I can install the mixer tap. However, it’s missing. I think I need to saw or drill the hole myself, but I’m not sure and wanted to ask how you have done it. Also, what is the best way to do this? I assume such instructions might be included in the manual of an IKEA mixer tap.
