Transport Taxi Berlin

A small tip for everyone in Berlin (especially near IKEA Tempelhof).
I happened to discover this yesterday because I wanted my items delivered immediately. They deliver your purchase on the same day. It only took 2 hours. Great service... why doesn’t IKEA offer something like this?

Yeah ... I took a look at the price list.
But it only applies to online shopping. Anyway ... it’s really quite affordable.
But also concerning.
Because the real intention behind it can only be to steer people toward online shopping and thus keep them away from IKEA stores themselves.
This leads to what will eventually happen anyway: pure online shopping!
No stores ... no salespeople ... no cashiers ...
Everyone unemployed ... and no delivery drivers either 😉 .

... and now you even have to handle the checkout yourself .... another major step in changes to jobs....

See, it’s possible.
When I drive past IKEA Berlin Tempelhof or IKEA Spandau today, I notice what started about a year ago. Immediate delivery has now become commonplace. Furniture taxis and transport taxis offer their services directly in front of the building. IKEA itself has also been offering immediate delivery for several months.
There you go.

I have a tip for all Hamburg residents: furniture taxi 0152-01 01 6789 I had purchased items worth about 900€ and IKEA wanted 89€ for delivery. The guys from the furniture taxi delivered everything to my home immediately, and I was even allowed to ride along 😀 all for just 33.50€. With IKEA, I would have had to wait 2 days. I can highly recommend them. Very friendly service and good prices.

Hello, I shopped in Tempelhof and was repeatedly bothered by people at every corner, like persistent street vendors, offering “furniture taxi” services claiming to be the official furniture taxi with a contract from Ikea... HA HA HA. They were Bulgarians or Turks—I’m not exactly sure—but I almost felt harassed. I then made a bit of a joke out of watching how these guys work in their super fancy wooden hut / garden shed (probably sponsored by Ikea). Oh man, okay, these are not easy jobs, but if I were supposed to entrust my furniture to them—no thanks. No written documents, just an address entered into the GPS, many of them don’t understand you at all, which I can accept, but I don’t think this has anything to do with Ikea GmbH & Co KG.

What this has to do with a reliable transport solution... no idea; for me, it’s not exactly trustworthy. After wandering around other furniture stores on the site, I was again approached about a furniture taxi, which was recommended by three stores with the reasoning that they do not recommend the ones in the wooden hut, but rather suggest using a reputable company and booking transport there... so my instincts were right.

When I again spoke to the other furniture taxi people at the so-called official furniture taxi, words of hatred were spoken—words I don’t know and would never use—true hostility.

I don’t want to judge anyone; this is just my opinion. I am also just a guest in Germany, trying to learn the language and how to write, but one thing I have taken from my own country is decency and kindness.

Thank you.
