Hello everyone, I have a problem with my Ikea Metod kitchen cabinet doors, which have started to squeak more and more when I open or close them. It’s not a loud noise, but it’s annoying enough that I’m looking for a solution. The doors are only about two years old, and I assume the issue is with the hinges, but I also suspect it could be related to the mounting or possibly insufficient lubrication. Has anyone had experience with how to best fix squeaking cabinet doors? What tools and materials do I specifically need, and are there common mistakes to avoid? In my case, the issue was that the doors would sometimes rub slightly due to humidity, which temporarily stressed the hinges. My solution was to gently open and close the doors daily to prevent any sticking, and additionally, to lightly treat the hinges with silicone spray every few weeks. This significantly reduced the squeaking during everyday use. It’s certainly not a permanent fix, but it personally helped me make the noise more bearable.
