Hello everyone, I have a problem with my IKEA Malm dresser drawers, which wobble quite a bit when pulled out. It feels like the drawer slides are not properly aligned or that the drawer itself is not securely fixed. I have removed and reinstalled them several times, but the wobbling remains.

My specific question is: How can I secure or adjust the drawers of the Malm dresser so that they fit more snugly and don’t wobble as much? Are there any special tips, replacement parts, or assembly steps to consider in order to fix this issue permanently? Maybe someone here has experience with this exact model and can provide a practical guide. Thanks in advance for any help!

Patience alone is not a solution when the construction has weak points.

Absolutely correct. A objective approach is important here.

Regarding the technical facts: IKEA Malm drawers are equipped with metal slides and plastic rollers. The wobbling effect mainly results from play in the guides, caused either by loose screws or wear of the rollers.

The maximum load for a single drawer is about 25 kg (55 lbs) according to the manufacturer. Regularly exceeding this can affect stability and lead to premature wear.

My advice:

- Retighten screws and, if necessary, secure them with threadlocker
- Check plastic rollers for damage and replace them if needed
- Distribute the load on the drawer as evenly and lightly as possible

This should solve most problems. If the wobbling persists, replacing the drawer slides could be considered.
