Good evening, this question was asked four years ago, but unfortunately, there was no answer.
Today I assembled the Ivar dresser, but I cannot install the top drawer. I have searched the internet and YouTube, but found no solution. The mother who was called for help couldn’t assist either. We even tried filing down a bit of the drawer, but that didn’t help. I would be very grateful for any tips on how to get the drawer installed!

I assume you tried to install the drawer from the top.
From my experience (it happened once to me and now I always check carefully), the sides are often mixed up, or with IKEA furniture, the top and bottom parts may be installed slightly offset. Sometimes the rails look the same even though they are not. (That doesn’t necessarily have to be the case here...)
If you don’t pay attention and check, you often end up with exactly the problem you are facing now.
My advice: disassemble and constantly check the rail installation.
No, often they don’t.
Try again.

Do the slats only fit one way due to the drilled holes?

I believe this is switched. The rails are labeled L / R.
