Actually, I am an IKEA fan – although I would never allow my apartment to look like an IKEA catalog. But I like their products in terms of design (and usually also the price). The quality of IKEA products, however, is very inconsistent and obviously varies.

At the moment, I am remodeling my old IKEA kitchen: I needed 5 new wall cabinets from the Faktum series with white Abstrakt fronts. For this, I had to visit the store five times:

[list:30a4s08f]2. Trip: Returned 4 doors – took 1 with me (only one was available)[/list:u:30a4s08f]
[list:30a4s08f]3. Trip: Picked up the remaining 3 doors – 2 had defects[/list:u:30a4s08f]
[list:30a4s08f]4. Trip: Returned 2 doors – one had a deep scratch under the protective film[/list:u:30a4s08f]
[list:30a4s08f]5. Trip: Exchanged 1 door – haven’t unpacked it yet (to keep the suspense)…[/list:u:30a4s08f]

This is annoying!

At the side edges, exactly at the level of the drilled holes for the hinges, there were two notches about 1cm (0.4 inches) wide each, as if some machine had left its imprint there.

How large are the doors? Could it be that the fronts or doors were pressed against the side bars of the shopping cart during loading, or perhaps earlier? That’s how it sounds anyway. These pressure marks always occur when someone tries to squeeze a countertop upright between the fronts.

It doesn’t have to have happened to you, but it sounds like it, since they are all in the same spot. Therefore, it’s not a product defect but user damage. However, as a family member, it’s not a problem regarding the transport insurance.

No, definitely not a "pinching issue" (my car isn't that small...). And the boxes were completely undamaged on the outside. The defects were also under the protective film. This was definitely a manufacturing defect.
