ciniminiHello,
I purchased the kitchen sink cabinet with drawers (item number: 598.688.19) and plan to install it using the slab handles, meaning both on the top and on the middle piece between the fronts. The problem is that the connecting rails (117786 and 117785) of the drawer fronts would rest on the slab handle, since there is only one drawer, but visually it looks like two, which are only connected by the rails.
My question is whether anyone has already installed a slab handle on the middle piece between the fronts without any issues, or if washers need to be placed under the screws to relieve tension on the rail and compensate for the height of the slab handle? Do the fronts end up misaligned due to the slab handle height? And is the rail visible from the front above the slab handle?
Thank you in advance for your help!

The drywall bead looks so narrow visually, just leave it out at that spot. It won’t be noticeable anyway, and as you’ve already noticed, it doesn’t serve any function.
Otherwise, definitely use washers under the screws. Over time, the facade will probably warp if it remains under such tension.

Cheers.

IKEA-Experte22 Nov 2012 00:10The connecting rails have a spacing notch that creates a joint with the correct gap. If a wide strip is added in between, the gap becomes too large. This looks awkward, and with a strip on top, the drawer cannot be closed properly.
