ᐅ Ikea Billy Bookcase Doors – Are There Door Dampers Available?

Hello everyone,

Are there actually door dampers for the shelf doors of the Billy? Or do you have to make do with DIY solutions from the hardware store?

I have two Billy units with a total of three large doors with glass inserts that slam quite hard if you’re not careful when closing them. Since I find the door dampers on IKEA kitchens really great, I would like to have something similar for the shelf now.

Can you help me with this or do you have any experience with it yourself?

I would start by checking online at Ikea; if anywhere, they probably have something there.

You can get it at Ikea, and if they don’t have it, also at hardware stores in various versions.

And the soft-close hinges for the kitchen cabinets don’t fit all cabinet doors in the IKEA range? What does the IKEA hotline say about that? It’s free, and they’re usually happy to help.
