Am I mistaken, or did the IKEA Billy bookshelf with a 39cm (15.5 inches) depth used to be available in a 40cm (16 inches) width as well? I wanted to buy it yesterday and noticed that now it’s only available with a 27cm (10.5 inches) depth.
So, I need your help or maybe someone has an idea. I’m looking for a bookshelf for file folders, in a dark brown color. The maximum width I can have is 46cm (18 inches)! The height can either be around 100cm (39 inches) or quite tall, between 190 and 220cm (75 to 87 inches).
I would really appreciate any tips!

Based on your information, the only alternative that comes to mind is a 40cm (15.7 inches) kitchen tall cabinet...

newswedishdesign8 Oct 2012 14:36Why don’t you use an Expedit 5x1? It fits binders perfectly, has more stable connections on the sides of the shelves (since these are secured with recessed wooden dowels, unlike the Billy which only rests on shelf supports), and the dimensions should also be suitable: Width: 44 cm (17 inches) Depth: 39 cm (15 inches) Height: 185 cm (73 inches)
