Hello,

I’m hoping to get lots of great ideas here.
I hate spending a lot of time cleaning but don’t want to hire a cleaning service. Ok, I will hire someone for the windows though.

That’s why I’m thinking about what to consider during both building and furnishing a house to always have a clean home with minimal effort.

Tips from any area are welcome, including for the garden.

I’ll start with my thoughts:

- No tiles at all, everything seamless
- Prefer spotlights rather than hanging lights
- Brick or masonry showers instead of glass shower enclosures
- Rimless toilets
- Wall-mounted furniture and sofas on legs so dust and robot vacuum can easily pass underneath; basically, arrange all furniture to accommodate the robot vacuum
- Lots of storage space, minimal decoration. Prefer hanging a photo collage rather than many separate photo frames
- In the kitchen, no countertops wrapping around corners. Rather smaller countertops and open space. Store all kitchen appliances and dust collectors inside cabinets

We received a robotic vacuum cleaner as a gift. I thought it would be pointless, but I'm impressed; however, it should be of good quality. The right way to arrange the furniture and minimizing clutter would be helpful.

- Aluminum-colored roller shutters instead of anthracite ones do not appear as dirty from pollen.

This is how we are mostly implementing it as well. I can’t think of anything else to add right now... A glass patio roof is still important to me so that the outdoor furniture doesn’t always have to be covered and you can also leave things outside without worry.

You can also store the toilet brush and toilet paper concealed within the wall. Unfortunately, this is extremely expensive. But I think I need that too.

I don’t really like that. A wet toilet brush stored in a cabinet gives me the impression that it won’t dry properly. We had ours mounted on the wall so that the floor space is free for the vacuum cleaner.
