Hello everyone,

I am interested in the average lifespan of an IKEA Brimnes wardrobe under normal, everyday use. Specifically: How long does a BRIMNES wardrobe typically last in a household when used for clothing, books, or similar items? It should be assumed that the wardrobe is not overloaded and that the doors and drawers are opened and closed in a normal manner. I am curious about the long-term durability of the construction and whether there are common signs of wear to watch out for. Any experience-based insights or tips regarding care and assembly would also be appreciated.

My cabinet has held up without any issues for 3 years, even though it is fairly fully loaded. Follow the assembly instructions carefully, otherwise instability may occur later.

I can answer this from personal experience: in my case, the furniture has lasted about 6 years with daily use. There have been only minor cosmetic damages at most and no significant functional limitations.

From my perspective, the Brimnes wardrobe will last at least 5 years under typical use. The quality is appropriate for the price. You just need to be careful during assembly and make sure that the doors and drawers are not subjected to excessive stress.

Correct assembly and careful handling of the drawers are essential.

I can fully agree with that. Improper assembly causes problems later on, especially with the drawer slides.
