Hello everyone, I am currently considering getting furniture from the Ikea Brimnes series, especially the bed and dressers. Since I value durable and sturdy furniture, I would like to hear your opinions on the material quality. Does anyone have experience with the materials used, how durable the engineered wood is, or whether the surfaces show scratches or wear quickly? It would also be interesting to know how strong the overall construction is and if you have had any issues with deformation, assembly, or longevity. I would appreciate detailed feedback, particularly regarding everyday practicality and how well the furniture parts handle things like moisture or frequently used drawers. Thanks in advance!

Two years ago, I bought several Brimnes chests of drawers, and I can say that I am not entirely satisfied with the material quality. Some of the shelves have sagged, even though I didn’t put excessive weight on them. After about 1.5 years, the surface shows some typical signs of wear that you can expect from particleboard with a foil finish. Still, I consider the furniture to offer good value for money, especially if you don’t have very high expectations for premium quality. If you plan to use the furniture heavily, I would recommend something made of solid wood or better reinforced construction.
