Hello everyone, we have a tiled floor on the ground floor with few obstacles (approximately 90 m2 (970 ft2) in total). We are already using a robot vacuum, which works well. Now the question came up whether a robot mop would provide additional convenience. Initial research gives an unclear picture, so I wanted to ask here: does anyone have good experience with these robot mops? Is the mopping really reliable and thorough? Especially in the kitchen, there are always spills and messes (especially with kids in the house...) that usually require quite a bit of manual scrubbing. I have read about streaks, puddles of water, poor cleaning performance, even with the more expensive models. Are there big differences between the models? Are certain features important? Maybe you have some general opinions you could share. I'll put it this way: if the robot mop works as well as the robot vacuum, so that if it runs every day, basically no regular mopping is needed anymore, that would be great. But if a robot mop just makes things worse, it wouldn’t be an option for me. Thanks for your thoughts. Ashley

They are suitable for support, but you should still mop once a week. We have a dark floor, where streaks from mopping unfortunately become visible very quickly.

We have the Roborock S7, which navigates its paths in a coordinated way—very well and accurately. No-go zones are easy to set and precise.

I’m glad to have it and would buy it again anytime, especially with kids and a sandbox in front of the house.

A small no from me. Last year, we had a model from irobot, and it broke twice because the hoses got clogged. I also found the mopping performance rather questionable and didn’t feel like the floor actually became cleaner. And we don’t have any pets.
Edit: we have very light-colored floors.

We have a Roborock S5 Max. Usually, I let it vacuum all around, and in the hallway, living area, and bedroom, I also let it mop occasionally. For me, mopping is more about binding dust than removing dirt. If you already see stains on the floor, then the mop has to be used. I have no experience with the newer robots.

When choosing the tile flooring, we already focused on easy-to-clean surfaces. The DEEBOT vacuum/mop robot does a good enough job.

However, I always vacuum first and then mop twice. Although the microfiber cloth stays almost clean during the second mopping.

However, we do not wear outdoor shoes inside the house.

We have an affordable vacuum and mop robot from Zaco. The vacuuming works well, but the mopping— as mentioned above— only picks up dust. This leaves a nice shine on the floor, but that’s about it.

What has truly made a difference for us is the cordless wet mop from Tineco. I find it really brilliant, and we use it twice a day. If stains are very dried on (cat food), I spray the area first, and after a few minutes, I clean it with the mop. I can definitely recommend it.
