ᐅ Are robotic floor cleaners worth it? – What’s your opinion?

Hello everyone, we have a tiled floor on the ground floor with few obstacles (approximately 90 m2 (970 ft2) in total). We are already using a robot vacuum, which works well. Now the question came up whether a robot mop would provide additional convenience. Initial research gives an unclear picture, so I wanted to ask here: does anyone have good experience with these robot mops? Is the mopping really reliable and thorough? Especially in the kitchen, there are always spills and messes (especially with kids in the house...) that usually require quite a bit of manual scrubbing. I have read about streaks, puddles of water, poor cleaning performance, even with the more expensive models. Are there big differences between the models? Are certain features important? Maybe you have some general opinions you could share. I'll put it this way: if the robot mop works as well as the robot vacuum, so that if it runs every day, basically no regular mopping is needed anymore, that would be great. But if a robot mop just makes things worse, it wouldn’t be an option for me. Thanks for your thoughts. Ashley

Here is the Roborock S7. In the hallway and guest bathroom, it also “scrubs the floor vigorously with the damp mop.” It works much better than I ever thought possible. It removes coffee stains. When it’s finished, the floor is acceptably clean for me. I would achieve the same results myself.

It only vacuums the parquet flooring, so the area that gets mopped is relatively small.

I would do it this way again. However, I have neither children nor pets, so this is naturally just a DINK experience. Under heavier use, the results might of course be different.

Our DEEBOT (vacuum and mop combo) was stored in the basement for two years because the apartment wasn’t suitable. Now in the house, it helps with vacuuming, but somehow no water comes out when mopping (I think it’s a dry mop) 😀. Conclusion: suitable for vacuuming, not really worth using for mopping.

We have a Xiaomi Mop 2S bought very cheaply from a reseller.

It mops twice a week and works great as a supplement, but you still need both a vacuum cleaner and a mop.

Thanks to this device, the floor is always deeply cleaned, which we really like.

However, you must not leave cables on the floor, as it will chew them up.

Thank you all for your ideas and input. I think I’m leaning towards an electric wet mop, as that probably makes the most sense for me. Best regards, ashley

As long as it’s not cordless then 🙂 We had one once as well, heavy and not really convincing in terms of performance. Better to stick with a traditional vacuum cleaner and mop.
