ᐅ Robot vacuum, handheld vacuum, vacuum-and-mop function — what are your thoughts?

Häuslebau3rGood morning everyone,
Since I could no longer find the robot vacuum thread using the search function, I have now started this new thread.
Currently, we still have an AEG upright vacuum cleaner, but I’m a bit annoyed by its suction power and the way the vacuum head drags behind when moving. My wife remembers the old dark green Vorwerk handheld vacuums from her parents’ house, on which I even used to ride along as a small child.
Last weekend, we visited the consumer fair in Nuremberg, where we gathered a lot of information about houses and construction, and we couldn’t avoid stopping by the Vorwerk booth as well.
In the mentioned robot vacuum thread, the Vorwerk vacuum and mop combo handheld was already discussed, so I based my research on that.
We were able to test the vacuum thoroughly and were quite impressed with the vacuum and mop function. One drawback we noticed is that the complete unit feels a bit heavy when lifting it, for example, onto stairs. Otherwise, the device easily glides across the floor.
Also, the filter system might be a downside for us, as expensive replacement filters can be a significant ongoing cost.
My question to you: does anyone have experience with the Kobold VK200 vacuum and mop model or maybe other comparable models and can share experience over several weeks or months?
Regards,
Andreas

We have the Philips recommended vacuum mop mentioned in the thread... Aqua-Trio – it’s not a robot, but I think the idea is the same.
My conclusion after 3 months: yes, it’s usable.
However, vacuuming beforehand is definitely necessary. I noticed that our floor doesn’t actually get as dirty as shown in the commercials... for example, after about a month, I thought, “Time to clean again,” and the water was almost clear by the end.
It also has the issue that it doesn’t reach well into the corners – I believe this will also be a problem with the Vorwerk device.

I just took a look at your model, and in terms of price, it’s about two-thirds cheaper than a Vorwerk and also bagless, right? But it’s also a completely different system with the rollers.
The question, as always, is whether such a significant investment is really worth it, or if it’s more fuss than convenience and benefit. Because having to pre-vacuum with another device anyway doesn’t really simplify things.
Hopefully, I wasn’t misunderstood above—so far, there aren’t any robot vacuums with this vacuum-and-mop function yet. I just wanted to point to an existing thread.
Edit: Now I found the other thread again.. *embarrassed*

So far, robot vacuum cleaners don’t seem to have this vacuum-and-mop function. I would just guess that combining these functions is a matter of size and battery capacity.
It would also need to detect the type of surface it’s on and how it should be mopped...

Exactly – cost around €350 (about $375) on special offer at QVC.
I think it’s good in the sense that without this thing, I would probably only mop once a year...Ok, that’s a valid point ^^

And it would also need to detect what kind of surface it’s on and how it should be mopped...Yes, I see it that way too. That’s why I came across the larger option, which was the VK200 handheld vacuum cleaner. The price at about €1300 (around $1400) is quite significant, in my opinion.
