Hello everyone, I am currently facing the challenge of securely packing and transporting some IKEA Brimnes furniture for a move. My question is: What is the best way to pack the individual pieces from the Brimnes series to prevent scratches or other damage during transport? I am especially interested in tips for protecting the surfaces, the corners, and, of course, how to best secure the often pre-assembled parts. Experiences with packing materials and handling potentially disassembled parts would also be very helpful. Thanks in advance for your advice!

Disassembling often provides much more security, when possible, especially for doors or larger back panels.Thank you for the tip, that's exactly what I'm considering – partially disassembling the furniture, maybe even removing all the back panels to transport them separately. The back panels often seem particularly vulnerable to damage.

That’s an important point I will keep in mind. Does anyone have experience with ratchet straps and how to position them optimally without damaging the furniture? I’m also a bit hesitant to remove drawers and doors entirely, as I’m worried I might not be able to reassemble everything correctly.

Does anyone have experience with ratchet straps and how to position them optimally without damaging the furniture?Hello, I understand that this can be intimidating. Recently, when securing Brimnes dressers, I placed a soft cloth under the ratchet straps to prevent pressure marks. Position the straps so they run across or along sturdy parts—for example, not directly over thin back panels, but rather on areas with corner joints. I secured doors and drawers beforehand with packing tape to prevent them from opening or shifting. This gives peace of mind, and even with slight bumps during transport, you don’t have to worry about damage. Wishing you the best, it sounds manageable!
