Hello everyone,
I recently bought an IKEA Brimnes furniture piece and would like to clean it without using any chemical cleaning agents. It is important to me to treat the surface and material gently, avoiding harsh substances that could be harmful to indoor air quality or the environment.
Does anyone know of proven methods or natural remedies that are especially suitable for cleaning Brimnes furniture? How can stains, dust, or light dirt be reliably removed without damaging the finish or surface? Are there general approaches or cleaning concepts recommended when using natural cleaning products?
I look forward to your tips and experiences!

Great to see so many natural tips coming together here! I’d like to add: For heavier soiling, you can use diluted white vinegar mixed with water (1:10), but be sure to immediately wipe it off with a damp cloth afterward to avoid any vinegar residue. This helps prevent unpleasant odors and possible damage to the finish.
Another tip from me: Regular cleaning prevents stubborn dirt buildup and makes maintenance much easier. So, clean up right after any dirt appears, and you’ll save yourself a lot of work!
You’ve got this—the Brimnes furniture will thank you!

Regular cleaning prevents stubborn dirt buildup and makes maintenance much easier. Absolutely! And one more thing: especially if you have children or pets at home, I recommend avoiding oil-based care products. These can become sticky and attract dirt. Instead, clean regularly with a damp cloth followed by drying.
And here’s a little motivational boost: natural cleaning is really not difficult and protects both your furniture and your health! Just give it a try and keep at it—you can do it! 😊
