Hello everyone, I recently bought an IKEA Platsa wardrobe and want to place it on my slightly uneven laminate floor. The problem is that the wardrobe isn’t fully stable because the unevenness reaches up to 1.5 cm (0.6 inches) in some areas. My question is: What methods or tools would you recommend to securely and permanently stabilize the Platsa so that it doesn’t wobble or, in the worst case, tip over? I’m mainly looking for practical solutions that won’t damage the furniture or be too complicated. I would really appreciate any experience or tips, especially regarding what works well with slight to moderate floor unevenness.
What helped me with my Platsa was sticking suitable furniture glides with felt pads under the feet and then finely adjusting the included leveling feet. It sounds simple, but it really stabilized the wobbly unit very well. ?
And yes – wall mounting is almost essential! Not only because the unit could otherwise tip over, but also because it makes the whole thing look much safer and feel much more solid.
Tip: If you notice unevenness, place a thin ruler or board on the floor under the cabinet to clearly identify where the biggest height differences are – then you can adjust accordingly.

Summary and Recommendation:
- Irregularities up to 1.5 cm (0.6 inches) should be corrected using adjustable furniture legs.
- Supplement with stable supports made from materials such as hard rubber or MDF boards, cut to be slip-resistant.
- Always secure the PLATSA to the wall using the designated brackets.
- If possible, level the floor locally with a leveling compound, especially for larger unevenness.
- Do not use temporary aids like cardboard or fabric scraps, as these are unstable in the long term.
This ensures a durable, safe installation of the PLATSA.
