Hello everyone, I have an Ikea Platsa system that has been in use for several years. Now I need replacement parts but am not sure how to find out exactly which parts I should order. I’m particularly interested in how to best identify the article numbers or names of the individual components to get the right replacement parts. Does anyone know a reliable method or have helpful tips for accurately determining the needed Platsa replacement parts? For example, is it enough to use the original assembly instructions, or are there other tools or sources that can help with this reliably? I want to avoid ordering parts that don’t fit. Thank you in advance for your help!

When identifying spare parts, it is helpful to know the exact serial number.

However, this often proves to be a challenge – many users are unaware that such a number exists or where to find it. Ikea does not communicate this very clearly. I would suggest that Ikea improve both accessibility and communication in this area so that customers are not left in the dark.

For systematic clarification:

- The serial number is the key at Platsa.
- Whether rollers, hinges, or connecting fittings – every part is assigned to a set.
- If documentation is missing, it is advisable to contact the Ikea spare parts service directly with as many details as possible (model and serial number, date of purchase).

In my experience, it makes sense to obtain a detailed spare parts list before ordering to avoid incorrect orders.

Very helpful, thank you all! This afternoon, I will look for the serial number and measure the drawer slides. It is reassuring that, with a combination of exact measurements, serial numbers, and Ikea’s spare parts list, this is quite doable. I will also use the idea of contacting customer service by phone with this information to make sure. If I have any more questions, I will get back to you.
