Hello everyone, I have the following problem: I want to remove stickers and labels from my Ikea Besta furniture without damaging the surface. These are the usual paper labels as well as some glossy stickers that are quite stubborn in places. My main concern is not to damage the paint or the plastic surface, as I want to use the furniture for several more years. Can you give me tips on how to remove such stickers as residue-free and gently as possible? Are there any home remedies or professional methods you would recommend? I am also open to advice on the right tools and preparation. Thank you in advance!

Hairdryer + plastic spatula, then isopropanol with cotton swabs. Just be careful with paint—don’t rub too hard.

Hi everyone, from experience I can say that it takes some patience to remove labels from Ikea Besta without causing damage. Once, I was too impatient and pried too hard, which unfortunately left small scratches that really annoyed me. My current approach is to gently warm the label first, then carefully lift it off using a plastic tool, and only lightly treat the adhesive with isopropanol—never in large amounts. I also make sure to distribute the pressure evenly while removing it to avoid tearing, as that can damage the surface. If the label is stubborn, I give the hairdryer a bit more time. I hope this little tip helps others avoid mistakes!
