Hello everyone, I have a question about my IKEA Besta drawers, which unfortunately are quite loud when opening or closing them in daily use. My question is: How can I make the IKEA Besta drawers quieter? I mainly use them for storage in the living room, and the loud slamming is really disturbing, especially when it’s quiet in the evening. I have already checked whether the runners are clean or if something is stuck, but I couldn’t find any obvious issues. Are there specific dampers, glide pads, alternative drawer runners, or simple tips that can help reduce the noise? Thanks in advance for your support!

I have attached felt pads to the contact points inside my Besta drawers. This helps a lot, making the closing much softer. Alternatively, there are small silicone bumpers that can be placed on the sides. Installation is simple, usually self-adhesive. This way, the drawers can be made significantly quieter.

Briefly about the dampers: IKEA offers a set for BESTA that can be screwed directly to the drawer bottom. There are also softer rubber buffers available as replacement parts, which can be glued onto the sliding rails. Once installed, the noise is noticeably reduced.
