sonJohnn4917 Sep 2019 14:35Just use a little silicone spray and apply it to the hinges. Open and close the doors slightly while spraying to ensure the spray spreads evenly. Usually, once a year is sufficient. Removing the doors is not necessary.

However, isn’t it a bit much to lubricate hinges constantly? Shouldn’t furniture show a bit of “wear and tear”? Sometimes I get caught up in this endless maintenance mindset, as if I have to protect my doors in a sterile bubble. Especially IKEA furniture is designed to be practical and functional, not to stay “perfect” forever.
Still, if you want to prevent squeaking noises, regular—but not excessive—oil application is definitely useful. You could almost say that too much care is sometimes just hypersensitivity toward something that hardly bothers anyone.
