Hello everyone, I recently bought a kitchen with IKEA Metod cabinets and am wondering about the quickest yet gentle way to clean the interior surfaces of these cabinets. The surfaces seem to be lacquered or melamine-coated, and I want to avoid scratches or damage. Are there any special cleaning products or home remedies that work particularly well? Additionally, I’m interested in whether heavy grease or dirt can be removed quickly and effectively without damaging the inside. I would appreciate tips that ideally require little effort, as I am short on time.

- Afterwards, wipe again with clean water to remove any residue.
- A microfiber cloth is useful because it is gentle on painted surfaces.
- Never use abrasive cleaners or alcohol-based products, as they can damage the surface.
Additionally, if you need to clean quickly, simply dampen the microfiber cloth beforehand and wipe the surfaces briskly – this enhances the cleaning effect. A routine twice a month usually keeps the cabinets clean.

I largely agree with the previous recommendations. One additional tip I find helpful is using a soft-surfaced sponge for corners and hard-to-reach areas.
It is also advisable to leave cabinet doors open after cleaning to allow moisture to escape. This helps keep the materials and fittings in good condition over time.
If you want to be on the safe side, you can test the cleaning product or dish soap briefly in a well-hidden spot before cleaning to ensure it doesn’t leave any residue or dull patches.
Regarding efficiency, regular cleaning often makes the process quicker. For stubborn dirt, it’s worth being patient and allowing the cleaner some dwell time.
