Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding the installation of Ikea Pax drawers, specifically how to mount them securely and firmly so they remain stable even with frequent use. My drawers wobble slightly, and I feel they might become loose over time, which I definitely want to avoid.

More specifically, I would like to know if there are any special tips for fixing the drawers firmly and permanently, which fastening materials work best (e.g., additional screws or special brackets), and if there is anything to consider regarding the installation frame.

It would also be helpful if anyone has experience with installing the drawer slides in a way that distributes the load optimally and ensures the whole system is as durable as possible.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Additionally:

If drawers wobble, also check the locking mechanism of the slides on the drawer side. Sometimes small plastic clips are not properly engaged, which causes instability.

Otherwise, give the rails and screws extra attention when tightening.

Hello everyone,

I would like to quickly add some tips on how to avoid common mistakes that often cause instability in PAX drawers:

- Mistake 1: Screwing too deep or too loosely. The particleboard around the fixing point can easily fray.
- Mistake 2: Opening and closing the drawers without lubricating the runners first. This can lead to uneven wear.
- Mistake 3: Not providing sufficient lateral support to the cabinet structure, which increases wobbling.

My advice:
- Prefer using screws with larger heads or special PAX-specific screws.
- Applying a bit of wax or silicone grease to the metal parts extends the lifespan of the drawer slides.

This way, you will achieve a secure and durable assembly.

Good luck!

In short: Align precisely, tighten screws, use brackets if necessary. Grease on the rails extends their lifespan. That’s all you need.
