Hello everyone,
I am planning to optimize my home office with an IKEA PAX system and am wondering which of the available PAX drawers are particularly suitable for office use. I am especially interested in which drawer sizes and types work best for storing office supplies such as writing utensils, folders, documents, and possibly small items.
Does anyone have experience with which PAX drawers have proven effective? Are there any specific inserts or accessories that make organization easier? I am looking for solutions that are both functional and flexible, and that also fit well visually in an office setting.
Looking forward to your opinions and tips!

Simply brilliant for pens, paper, cables, and even magazines. You can really feel how much more relaxed work becomes when everything has its dedicated place!

As an addition: The IKEA PAX drawers can be expanded with various inserts, such as plastic or wooden compartment boxes. These are very helpful because small office supplies can easily become disorganized otherwise.
Another tip: Combining them with drawers that have a soft-close mechanism not only reduces noise but also preserves the longevity of the system.

Just because it’s called PAX doesn’t mean it’s the best solution for office organization.Good point, here’s my addition: My focus is on a flexible, as modular as possible solution, while also maintaining an elegant appearance.
Other systems might be specifically designed for that purpose, but I’m already familiar with PAX from furniture standards and want to experiment with it because I often want to swap and add individual parts. Still, I’m interested if anyone here has practical long-term experience beyond the look.

You hardly notice how much better your mood gets when everything is neatly and practically stored away 😉 Just give it a try – and if you want to change something later, it’s easy to add more inserts. Super flexible!
