Hello everyone,
I am currently planning the installation of my Ikea Metod kitchen with several built-in appliances, including a stove, a dishwasher, and a refrigerator. I have a question about how to properly assemble these kitchen units along with the built-in appliances. I am particularly interested in tips on handling the cabinets, securing the appliances, and important steps to avoid missing during installation. Are there any special tools or procedures you would recommend? I already have some experience with Ikea furniture, but I am unsure about the exact process for connecting and installing appliances. I would appreciate it if you could share your experiences!

I would like to add that the installation sequence is very important:
1. Assemble and roughly adjust the cabinet carcasses
2. Place and secure the worktop
3. Check the cutouts for the cooktop or sink
4. Temporarily position the appliances (oven, dishwasher, refrigerator)
5. Make the proper connections (water supply, drainage, electricity)
6. Final installation by securing the appliances
Appliances should only be installed once the cabinets are fully aligned. When making connections, follow the applicable standards and consult an electrician or plumber if you are unsure.

Hey everyone!
I find installing Ikea Metod kitchens with appliances to be always exciting – a bit like a puzzle 🙂 The important thing is to take your time and keep an overview.
Definitely a good tip. And if all of this feels too stressful, always remember: there are professionals and even installation services available. But honestly – doing it yourself brings a lot of joy and pride!
I would also recommend running all appliances empty right after installation to detect any leaks or connection errors early on.
Good luck, and let the chips fly!

Prepare electricity and water connections beforehand, then connect the appliances and firmly screw the cabinets together. Finally, install the doors.

Assemble Ikea Metod cabinets without doors first. That’s exactly how I always build them as well. One additional tip: install the countertop only at the end, but make sure to properly align all appliances beforehand, otherwise nothing will fit correctly later.
Also, the supplied water supply hoses are often a bit short. It’s better to get longer hoses in advance to avoid stress during installation.
Furthermore, make sure the appliances have proper ventilation to prevent heat buildup, especially for the oven and refrigerator.
