Hello everyone, I am currently facing the challenge of installing Ikea Metod kitchen fronts as quickly and efficiently as possible. I am particularly interested in tips and tricks you can recommend to significantly reduce assembly times without compromising quality and care.

Are there any special tools, preparatory work, or assembly steps that work especially well to optimize the process? How do you handle aligning the fronts and securing them in a way that is both fast and professional?

I look forward to your experiences and advice, including common issues that may arise when working at a faster pace.

Here’s a little tip from my experience:

If you fully prepare the cabinet fronts before installation, you can attach some thick felt pads to the back to protect the surfaces in case you need to set them down or move them.

This way, you avoid scratches and scuffs on the fronts without spending much extra time.

Also, when aligning, it’s a good idea to use a small spirit level (bubble level) alongside to save time on adjustments.

And with a smile and some good music, even long installation days become easier to handle!

Use longer screws with washers if fastening on the cabinet front is difficult to turn. This is faster and provides a stronger hold. Combine the handle installation with the pre-screwing of the front.

If you want to speed up the installation, you should also focus on handling the cabinet structure: Check the cabinets in advance for dimensional accuracy and alignment to avoid later adjustments on the fronts.

A clear division of labor, if multiple people are assembling, significantly reduces the overall time.
I can confirm that. It’s worth dividing tasks, for example, one person prepares all the door hinges while the other aligns and attaches the fronts.

This is very helpful, thank you!

One final question for everyone: Which installation steps can be done in parallel to save time? For example, while the mounting set is being attached to the front, can work already be carried out on other fronts or the cabinets adjusted? I’m interested in how you synchronize the timing, especially when assembling on your own.
