Hello everyone, I am facing the challenge of making the best use of Ikea Metod kitchen cabinets in a small space. The room has limited floor area, and I am looking for ideas on how to maximize storage while maintaining enough room to move around. I am especially interested in how to best combine the individual modules or whether it is worthwhile to use additional internal organization accessories. Does anyone have practical experience or tips specifically tailored to small spaces so I can arrange the Metod cabinets as efficiently and functionally as possible?

Corner solutions with a carousel, that’s all you need. I find this statement a bit too brief. Just because carousel or LeMans pull-outs create storage space doesn’t mean ergonomic aspects, lighting conditions, and accessibility shouldn’t also be considered. Especially in small rooms, an overloaded solution can quickly become impractical. Questions:
- Have you checked whether clever drawer systems with shallower depths could make parts of the storage more ergonomic?
- Is the layout intended only for the kitchen or for multipurpose use?
- Maybe we should discuss variable cabinet heights or open shelving to avoid making the space feel cramped?
I think recommending only full extension drawers is limited advice because the context is missing.
Very good points, MAVERICKKA.
In addition to pull-outs and corner mechanisms, I would recommend keeping the space as open as possible. One tip:
- Use fronts in light colors or glass, which visually enlarges the room.
- Cabinets can be partially combined with open shelving to avoid taking up too much space.
- If the floor plan allows, a single-wall kitchen with combined wall cabinets and tall pantry cupboards is advisable to concentrate more storage space.
To Robenedi33: If you can describe the floor plan more clearly, I can also provide examples of how to combine the Metod modules.

Thank you for the offers; I will present it in more detail with measurements and the floor plan. Until then, your help is really valuable. Especially the points about pull-outs and corner cabinets give me new ideas. I have already considered towel holders on doors and flaps to save space. Are there any recommendations on how to attach such additional accessories to Metod cabinet doors without compromising stability?
