Hello everyone,

I am currently considering how to best use the Hemnes series from Ikea for my bedroom. My main focus is on a combination of functionality and design possibilities.

I am particularly interested in which furniture pieces from the Hemnes range are especially suitable for smaller bedrooms but still offer enough storage space without appearing too bulky. I would also like to know how flexible the series is regarding different interior styles. Can Hemnes furniture be easily combined with modern or rather traditional decor? And are there any proven tips on how to use Hemnes dressers or wardrobes cleverly without making the space look overcrowded?

Thanks for your experiences and recommendations!

The Hemnes series is very versatile. For small bedrooms, the narrower dressers and the 2-door wardrobe are especially suitable.

You can create storage space effectively with the tall dressers, which make optimal use of the height.

In terms of style, Hemnes is more classic, but the white lacquer finish allows it to be easily combined with modern elements.

Regarding the functionality of the Hemnes series in the bedroom, Ikea offers several practical furniture pieces:

- Wardrobes in various widths, some equipped with interior organizers that make storage more efficient.
- Hemnes dressers with multiple drawers are well suited as dressing drawers.
- The bed frame with built-in drawers provides additional storage space without taking up extra room in the bedroom.

The series is made of solid wood, which is durable but can also appear somewhat bulky. For smaller rooms, it’s worth considering the following points:
- Choose light colors like white or light gray from the Hemnes range to make the room appear visually larger.
- Avoid overly wide furniture pieces when space is limited; instead, opt for more but narrower units.

Regarding style combinations: Hemnes works well in a classic setting since the design is traditional and straightforward. For a more modern look, you can create contrast using accessories and textiles, such as cool fabrics or minimalist lighting.

In summary: Hemnes is well suited for bedrooms if room layout is planned carefully and you pay attention to storage options.

I completely agree. Earlier this year, I had a small bedroom and chose Hemnes as well. The built-in drawers in the bed saved a lot of space since I didn’t need extra boxes under the bed.

What I can also recommend is using two narrower wardrobes side by side instead of one large three-door wardrobe. This makes the room feel less cramped and offers more flexibility in arranging the space.

In addition, I used low-height dressers, which make the room feel more open despite the rather solid furniture from the Hemnes range.

Overall, Hemnes helped me combine storage and style without making my bedroom feel overcrowded.
