Sektionschef22 Aug 2013 22:39Hello
I came across a question when I read somewhere that after the release of the new Metod kitchen (probably mid-2014), Faktum products will still be available for another 2 years.
How can IKEA still offer a 25-year warranty on Faktum products if they won’t be available after 2 years? Does anyone know?
Regards

IKEA-Experte22 Aug 2013 22:57Please review the warranty terms. IKEA decides how to fulfill the warranty:
"IKEA will either repair the defective product or replace it with the same or a comparable product. IKEA covers the costs of repair, replacement parts, as well as labor and travel expenses of the technician. Replaced parts become the property of IKEA.
If the product is no longer carried by IKEA, they will offer an appropriate replacement product. If applicable, a reasonable monetary compensation may also be provided."

IKEA-Profi23 Aug 2013 08:14This issue occurs with many products that come with excessively long warranties. IKEA uses these to demonstrate the quality of their furniture and may offer replacements if needed, which usually DOES NOT mean that the customer will receive the same piece of furniture if something goes wrong. This is another reason to limit warranty periods to more "reasonable" lengths, as excessively long warranties are likely to cause more frustration than satisfaction...
