Good morning everyone, I recently used the Billy shelving system from IKEA in my living room and find it very flexible. Now I am considering how to use Billy in the bathroom as well. This raises the question: How can I adapt or protect the Billy shelves to withstand the higher humidity and occasional water splashes in the bathroom without damaging the furniture? What practical tips are there for installation, surface treatment, or accessories to make Billy not only functional but also durable in a bathroom environment? I look forward to your creative and proven solutions, including advice on moisture resistance, additional protective measures, and alternative mounting options. Thanks in advance!

I have been using Billy in the bathroom for over a year now and I’m happy with it! Sure, sometimes I need to touch up the paint, but overall it holds up very well if you take good care of it. The main thing is to make sure there is good ventilation. 🙂

Thank you all for the helpful responses! I will try out your tips with the glaze, seals, and spacers. It all sounds feasible and well thought out. I’ll keep you updated on how Billy performs in the bathroom.
