I am currently considering how to customize the doors of the Ikea Pax wardrobe, as the standard options don’t really appeal to me. I’m especially interested in the different ways to alter the surface, for example, to add personal touches to the doors without compromising their stability or functionality. Are there options to repaint the doors, apply adhesive films, or even attach other materials to them?
I would appreciate any tips on what to keep in mind when modifying the doors, such as how to properly handle fittings and hinges, or whether there are specific tools or products that work particularly well.

What also helped me was cleaning the doors with a degreaser after sanding.
