Having the whole house painted twice cost about 2500€ (~$2700), while full wallpapering would have been an additional ~5000€ (~$5400). We gladly passed on that.
Wallpaper is not a cure-all for cracks. Wallpaper can also tear.

hampshire25 May 2019 21:00I wouldn’t call it a trend; it has existed for a long time. The demands of homeowners have increased, and with them, the technical effort required to meet these expectations.

Non-woven wallpaper isn’t a cure-all for cracks. Even non-woven wallpaper can crack. Unfortunately, I can confirm that. We have expensive non-woven wallpaper underneath and still got one or two cracks. Some quite long, others shorter… a shame, but probably unavoidable if you don’t use traditional wallpaper or want to avoid wallpaper altogether.
