Hello dear community,

So far, we have successfully built a solid wood house. Now, the painting work is to be done by ourselves.
Inside, the walls are covered with drywall panels and filled/sanded with Knauf Uniflott.

Our current plan is to prime/spray the walls using an airless device.
It is often recommended to wallpaper with painter’s fleece to prevent cracking.

Does anyone have experience with this?
Thanks!

For a wooden house, I would also recommend using painting fleece. Otherwise, make sure to tape off everything carefully before priming.

If you can live with one or two cracks, you can proceed with painting right away.

No no... Priming is still necessary! Drywall absorbs too much.

This topic will be relevant for us in two months as well.
Our drywall installer suggested: prime the surface first, then use fleece wallpaper instead of fiberglass because it is easier for non-professionals to handle and more cost-effective, followed by painting if desired.

The fleece would also help to even out cracks.

What do you think?

This will also be a topic for us.
We plan to simply paint the plaster white.
In our apartment, the walls were delivered like this by the landlord. It looks great. However, the ceilings are covered with woodchip wallpaper.
Some acquaintances have also recommended this to us because wallpaper on the ceiling is said to be easier to maintain.

How are you planning to design the ceilings?

Our plaster will be finished to Q2 level with sanding. The general contractor said it can be painted directly on.

Best regards
