Hello everyone,

Are both paintable wall liner and plastering equally suitable for a new build, or is there anything to consider?

Are there significant cost differences between paintable wall liner and plastering?

I would appreciate hearing about your experiences.

Masonry walls are always plastered. This makes them airtight and smooth. Plastering work is a standard part of house construction.

A painter’s fleece is a finishing layer and, if used, is part of the painting work. Painter’s fleece cannot replace plaster.

Thank you very much.
But isn’t there also the option to apply a render as an alternative to wallpaper (over the base coat, which is already part of the house construction), or not?

Yes, that would be textured plaster – there are countless options available.

But this doesn’t really relate to your original question about paintable fleece, does it? Or are you considering whether to apply textured plaster or paintable fleece to the walls?

Good evening,

yes, exactly, I am considering using textured plaster or painter's fleece. Are both equally suitable, and are there significant price differences between plaster and painter's fleece?

No idea. Is a Porsche better, or an SUV? Or are they equally good?

Have you compared options at a specialized store or online yet?
I would only use textured plaster for a country-style house or a secondhand property. Painter’s fleece is something completely different! Why do you ask "either-or"?

Maybe first figure out for yourself what kind of surface finish you envision, and then simply weigh the pros and cons.
